Here are some of the funding options available to you...
This option is available to working families, including the self-employed, in the UK. To be eligible, you must earn under 100k and at least £142 per week, and not be receiving Tax Credits, Universal Credit, or childcare vouchers. For every £8 you pay into an online account, the government will add an extra £2, up to £2000 per child per year. This funding can be used all year round for regulated childcare, such as childminders, nurseries, nannies, before and after-school clubs, and holiday clubs.
This option is available to families in England with a 2-year-old and receiving some form of support. You will receive 15 hours of free childcare or early education for 38 weeks, which is a total of 570 hours per year.
This funding can be used for participating full day care, schools, childminders, sessional providers, and Sure Start Children’s Centres.
It starts from 1 January, 1 April, or 1 September following your child’s 2nd birthday.
This option is available to all families in England with 3 and 4-year-old children. You will receive 15 hours of free childcare or early education for 38 weeks, which is a total of 570 hours per year.
This funding can be used for participating full day care, schools, childminders, sessional providers, Sure Start Children’s Centres and after-school clubs.
It starts from 1 January, 1 April, or 1 September following your child’s 3rd birthday.
This option is available to working families in England with 3 and 4-year-olds. You will receive 30 hours of free childcare or early education for 38 weeks, which is a total of 1,140 hours per year. Some providers may allow you to ‘stretch’ the hours over 52 weeks, using fewer hours per week.
This funding can be used for participating full day care, schools, childminders, sessional providers, and Sure Start Children’s Centres.
This option is available to working families in the UK with children under 16 (or under 17 if disabled). You can receive 70% of your childcare costs, up to a cap. This funding can be used for registered childminders, nurseries, nannies, after-school clubs, playschemes, and registered schools.
This option is available to working families claiming Universal Credit in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales with children under 17. You can receive up to 85% of eligible childcare costs, but must not be receiving Tax-Free Childcare.
This funding can be used for registered childminders, nurseries, nannies, after-school clubs, playschemes, and registered schools.
You will need to re-confirm your funding code every 3 months after you have completed the initial application. You can do this by logging into your government childcare account.
